The Elpis pairs natural marble with solid copper, and the copper is the whole fixture rather than a plated finish over base metal.

That matters over time. Plated copper wears at the contact points and shows the substrate; solid copper develops patina evenly and can be polished back if you prefer it bright. Black or gold hardware sets the contrast against the stone.
