The Verena wraps a timber frame in hemp rope, and the material does most of the work.
Rope diffuses light through its own gaps rather than through a shade, which produces a broken, textured cast rather than a smooth pool. That suits rooms with natural materials already in play: linen, timber, jute, unpainted plaster. It reads poorly against high-gloss finishes.
Three diameters, from 40cm through to 60cm. The largest wants a table or void beneath it.
